Curbfest in Brooklyn, NY and Baltimore was a resounding success! These events beautifully showcased “THE WORK,” focusing on our Political Prisoners. It was a privilege to have @sundiataacolifc join us in NY to partake in the celebration of his unwavering DEDICATION TO OUR LIBERATION. We stand united in the call to free all those still unjustly held captive by the state!
A heartfelt shout-out to the numerous organizations, businesses, collectives, and individuals that collaborated to organize and host these phenomenal experiances. About
Veronza Bowers, Jr., an author, musician, and practitioner of Asian healing arts, is an honorary elder of the Lompoc Tribe of Five Feathers, and a founder of the All-Faith Meditation Group devoted to healing through the Japanese shakuhachi flute.

Born in Atlanta Georgia, Bowers is a veteran of the Black Panther Party currently serving a life sentence.

In 1973, Veronza was convicted in the murder of a U.S. Park Ranger on the word of two government informants, despite there being no eye-witnesses or independent evidence linking him to the crime. Veronza’s alibi testimony was ignored at his trial. Veronza’s insistence of his innocence has caused his appeals for parole to be repeatedly denied.

Veronza Bowers was approved to be released June 21, 2005, but at the behest of the Fraternal Order of Police, U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales demanded the National Appeals Board reverse their decision in granting him parole.
